Day 10 - To Osaka

It's Sunday, and we ventured out early to find breakfast.  A Matsuya was about 15 minutes away, so we walked through the wakening city to seek it out.

We also walked down Hondori Street - the covered shopping area in downtown Hiroshima.  Lots of clothing, accessory, and candy shops here.  Also a Tullys Coffee, where we got coffee and a roll before getting to Matsuya (where they don't serve coffee).

Here's a cute little Mazda van that you won't find in the US.

And, here's the view from our Hiroshima hotel.  The best view that we've had yet.

We made an early afternoon Shinkansen for the one hour trip to Osaka.  Our hotel in Osaka was about a block from the station.  No issues, except trying to get out of the station.

Near the hotel, there were a bunch of vending machines.  One of them had my now-favorite beverage - Mitsuya Cider.  I think it's brewed, and served cold.  Very light carbonation and not too sweet - maybe has some ginger in it.

And of course, it came from a vending machine.

Did I mention Japan like their vending machines?  Here are a few just outside our hotel.

Including the beer machine.

And one for cigarettes.  Guess it's on the honor system for kids.

Later in the evening, we got on the subway and made our way to the Shinsaibashi area - another covered shopping area with lots of stores and eateries.  Even on a Sunday night, there were lots of people here.

When we couldn't put up with the crowds anymore, we got back on the Subway and headed back to our hotel.  Early to bed for our Kyoto day tomorrow.
